William J Carroll Ltd was set up by Willie Joe and his wife Sarah initially as a retail garage in 1974. Prior to this Willie Joe had been repairing local farmers machines alongside a full time job at a local sand and gravel business. He became so busy with the demand a decision had to be made, and from there the business was born and he never looked back.
Later in 1980 Willie Joe took the big step of starting into manufacturing also, and William J. Carroll Ltd's sister company, Rossmore Engineering was started and is located next-door to the garage.
